In the year 2005, I was a third year high school student, striving to learn some things. One thing I didn't miss is the silent participation in music. After school, After Study time, I would open up the t.v. tuning on the music channel. If i can turn back time, I would have gone to the internet, searched for this band, listen to its album, download etc.

There are quite some things, I have learned, IF I only sticked to the local music channel or to my usual routine in the maintream phenomenon, I can't view, discover other good bands, that has already fitted/trying to surpassed my taste in music. To tell you the truth, I discovered Chidos around 2007, when i was a freshman in college,(thanks a lot forgotten chat mate on yahoo messenger, who introduced/pimped me with this band, who happens to be a MCR hater..LOL). I mistakenly named this band as Chiodice, in a unknown/unusual cause of my state STM or short term memory.

So enough chit-chat, let's begin this review!

1. "Prelude" – Kinda serene, in a beach, island, sound effect.Nice one, for an intro.:)
2. "All Nereids Beware" – Love the Bass lines in the beginning .:)
3. "One Day Women Will All Become Monsters" – I CRIED ON THIS SONG..REALLY
4. "Expired in Goreville" – "you cured me of my foolish obsession with love'
   i'll love you until my last breath takes you from me" The ending was magnificent.
   
5. "Baby, You Wouldn’t Last A Minute on the Creek" – LISTEN. GET HOOKED. and awesome music Video.
6. "The Words 'Best Friend' Become Redefined" – Not that much, but near for an LSS
7. "Interlude, Pt. 1" – ..AWESOME!
8. "There's No Penguins in Alaska" – SHE LOVES ME, SHE LOVES ME NOT!.
9. "Interlude, Pt. 2" – "..AWESOME!
10. "We’re Gonna Have Us a Champagne Jam" – "Hoping Words could move You"
11. "No Hardcore Dancing in the Living Room" – PLAIN AWESOME!
12. "Who's Sandie Jenkins?" – TERMINAL AWESOME
13. "To Trixie and Reptile, Thanks for Everything-The ending was MAGNIFICENT. AWESOME CHOICE

SOUND: Punk-Pop, Alternative Metal, Emo, Punk Revival. That is why, their sound is unique. They made their own sound, incorporated and never they didn't changed from their material.(unless from their recent album, which is kinda different from this) If a listener wishes to be isolated from a common sound, like if you say "Emo" and bands like Paramore, MCR, etc.. would pop up, I think the sound of Chiodos did surpassed them. Craig Owens(vocalist) had a sweet voice, which I think. He is the face of this band.

Lyrics and Singing: As stated above, Craig Owen's voice had a sweets voice, it only pertains this album really qualify for any music pimping folks out there. The lyrics is solemnly close related to William Shakespeare's works like King Lear(One Day, Women will all become Monsters) Assertion of lines such from the track There's No Penguins In Alaska" is made up from a number of Shakespeare's sonnets. The chorus comes from line 5 of Shakespeare's Fifth, the term "murderous shame" is borrowed from line 14 of his Ninth, and the lyrics "The worst was this; my love was my decay" are taken from line 14 of his Eightieth. The line "star-crossed lovers" from the song "Expired In Goreville" is derived from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and n the song, "All Nereids Beware", the opening line "This spring of love resembles the uncertain glory of an April day" is a modern adaptation of a line said by Proteus in the Shakespearean play The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Impression: In my own opinion, the album is a majestic entity with whom it denotes, BAD ASS awesomeness. and who could agree with me? If you did a research on this band, as well on this album, one thing for sure that the word AWESOME is in relevance. The tracks from the album that i highly recommend to listen to, is All Nereids Beware, Expired in Goreville, One Day Women will All Become Monsters, Baby, You Wouldn’t Last a Minute on the Creek,There's No Penguins in Alaska and We’re Gonna Have Us a Champagne Jam. Highly Recommended!

So go ahead now, try to download/buy this cd or just listen in the net, you won't be disappointed.

JonMess123 is the the real Jon Mess?

I was looking at the net, for the lyrics of my favorite band, Dance Gavin Dance, when i open this site of Song Meaning Lyrics.

I was reading the people's comments, their own interpretation of the song, plus the correction of the lyrics, when i see the comments made by the username JonMess123.

I don't know, if this is indeed the real Jon Mess, from DGD.

If you don't know who is Jon Mess, It is my pleasure to tell you.

Jon Mess is the former member(screamer) of the band Dance Gavin Dance He left in September 2008, abruptly after recording the self-titled album, and no official statements were made by neither the band nor the departees regarding their departure. However, it is generally accepted that Mess was tired of constant touring, Jonathan Mess is currently attending school and has recently recorded guest vocals for the song "Look Mom I'm on TV" by Mozart Season.There is no tension between him and the other Dance Gavin Dance members, and has even performed with them at local Sacramento shows.(source: Wiki)

Anyhow, I was really surprised, for JonMess 123 posts are kinda quite accurate but I kinda doubt it. There are many speculations/premises i made, without an exact conclusion. So to satisfy my curiosity and my uneasy mind about my fave screamer, here is the post he made, I am not going to lie, but when i did read it, I nearly believe it, but i was a then a bit disappointed, (now i doubt), because other songs he only include the songs of ther 2008 self-title album. If he is truly are Jon Mess, he would post the rest, nor he will just let the audience/fans/listener interpret it.(but i prefer the artist would gladly explain their songs)

Black Saturday/this holy week

I guess this is the first of 5 years, i missed to participate in the outdoor activity of the holy week. Formerly, I participated all the prayers and the Church's ordeals. The reason would be i missed it due i don't have anyone who would come with me. I don't want to see i am alone in there, shivering and staring other people with an uncomfortable smile on my face.:(

Maybe i fear loneliness on the outside, but the inside it feels great, you can focus on building your own career minus some sentiments like "no one will give you an inspiration to keep you going". I got 3 years to prove, all you need is yourself, and will not rely on others makes your career sky rocket to the top or even it would grasp an average feeling into it, just to make your career stable and satisfactory for you.

Reconnection=Resolution=Dream

..Almost 5 days, i suffered. Not because of disease or emotional turmoil but w/out internet connection. I missed logging in on facebook, on naruto forums etc.

Anyhow, I am so happy, got my internet back and back on normal routine.:)

The only changng schedule here, is I go to gym every other day. I think, this day would be an exception since I got some errands/ important appointments. Tomorrow would be back.

Anyhow, these past few days, I got this dream. FUCKING AMAZING!!!!.. Dreams are supposed to be expected. when you are still awake you would think this way, "PLEASE LET ME DREAM, A HAPPY DREAM."(but there would be exception like, if a person is prone to seeing vision, premonition etc...)

During that day, I never expected to dream that "amazing dream." It goes this way,

"I am in a wedding. Somewhat like my sister's or my cousins wedding. Somewhat it is related to our family affair or something like that. The setting would be on a beach. A nice dawn skies. Perfect for such a romantic affair. Anyhow, I am in a limousine, and I am with this girl. And guess what, MY CRUSH=DREAM GIRL. and we are doing like taking pictures, of us. and I feel I WAS SO CLOSE CLOSE CLOSE TO HER. we talked, about families, relationships.(since it is a dream, blurry and something not clear on what the conversation is about.) In the end,, I found out, she is a relative to the in-laws, where my sister's or my cousin's husband family."

There.. So, much positive dream, even that following day, we got to defend our research proposal which in turns, i kinda disappointed but nonetheless, THAT DREAM CHANGE ME. Anyhow, I think that dream girl, would be forever in my dreams, in real life, "no-uh". Physical, and Financial Status, I think matters. and I think she is hooked with my "former fave band". Anyhow, I still enjoyed it. and taking pictures gave me an idea.. That would be my resolution.:)
